On our first day of cooking we made a roux in a medium sized pan and then proceeded to add slightly warm milk. After mixing that until it has a somewhat thick texture, we added the cheese and mixed until everything was stirred in. We then added our salt and spices and stirred them in. Meanwhile we were boiling the water for the macaroni. When it started to bubble we added the macaroni and when it was done we mixed it with the cheese sauce and put it in the pan to be cooked. The next day when I came into class (Alex was absent) our mac and cheese was already in the oven and a few minutes later I took it out (it had already been in for a while before I got there).

We then went around the room and tasted the other groups mac and cheese. My opinion is that ours (group 3) was the best, but we ended up tying for last place. I took notes on each groups mac and cheese and these were the results. Group 1 was was creamy but somewhat chewy and in my opinion it had a strange aftertaste. Group 2 had a great taste but the texture was kind of dry and chewy. Group 4 had very creamy mac and cheese but their mac and cheese tasted to much like garlic from their bread crumbs. And finally, group 5 had very creamy mac and cheese but it tasted kind of strange.
